The roots animation
Canvas animation · hero background

The animated roots in the hero are Graft's signature mark — organic branching lines growing upward from the soil, rendered in the cognac accent color. On dark mode they glow gold; on light mode they darken to rich brown. They represent growth, foundations, and craft. Never remove or swap them — they are the brand's most distinctive visual element.

Voice & tone
Craft, not corporate

Graft sounds like a skilled tradesperson, not a digital agency. We take the work seriously without the agency jargon. No "synergies," no "omnichannel solutions" — just honest work delivered well.

Direct, not salesy

Cold outreach is part of the model. The tone is confident and clear — we say what we do, who it's for, and what it costs. We don't oversell. Local businesses respect directness.

Local, not generic

Graft serves real local businesses — restaurants, trades, retail. The copy should feel like it was written for someone specific, not a demographic. Reference real results, real outcomes.

Do / Don't
Do
  • Use Bebas Neue for all primary headlines — all-caps, always
  • Keep the roots animation in the hero — it's the brand's signature
  • Default to light mode for client-facing pages and cold outreach
  • Use cognac brown as the single accent — nothing competes with it
  • Write like a skilled tradesperson: confident, direct, honest
  • Cross-reference Invio for clients who need margin/inventory tools
Don't
  • Use gradients or glow effects — those belong to Tacet or tech brands
  • Use italic in Bebas Neue — the display font is upright only
  • Use the word "innovative" or "cutting-edge" — ever
  • Add a second accent color — the cognac brown is sufficient
  • Make it look like a tech startup — Graft is a craft business
  • Confuse Graft's brand with Siteforge — Siteforge is internal tooling
Brand placement
A Dunwell company

Always appear as "a Dunwell company" in the footer. Graft and Invio share the same target audience (local small businesses) — cross-sell naturally. Graft builds their digital presence; Invio tracks their margins. Siteforge is the internal tool that powers Graft's delivery — it is not a client-facing product.
